The MSU-Northern Lights dropped their first game of the season last night in Great Falls when they lost 82-77 in double overtime to Providence.
The Argo’s led by as many as 19 in the second half, but the Lights ended the half on a 16-3 run to tie the game and send it to overtime. In overtime, with Providence leading by 5, Jesse Keltner hit a jumper to cut the lead to 3 and then Zackry Martinez made a 3 point shot to tie the game and send it to double overtime. In double overtime, the Argo’s made clutch free throws late in the period to take and secure a 6 point lead.
Zackry Martinez and Myles Dalton led the Lights in points with 14. Jesse Keltner recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tanner McCliment-Call had 12 points and Immanuel Anderson also added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Lights are 6-1 on the season and look to avenge that first loss Saturday when they take on Carroll at home at 4pm
