Havre, Mt – Lights Wrestling will roll out the mats for their first official duel on the road at North Idaho College this Friday.
North Idaho is top 10 team at the Juco level and coach Thivierge will look for his first career dual win against the Cardinals.
Coach Thivierge knows that one of the keys to that oh, so elusive win lies with his young lightweight wrestlers.
“Our lightweights. We’re young. we are really really young in the lightweights, last year that was our hiccup, that was our weakness. The first battle is making weight, those light weights gotta get the ball rolling for everybody else. You know the upper weights from 49 up we’re very experienced.” Thivierge said.
“North Idaho is not a fun place to wrestler, it’s not a fun place to wrestle. Their crowd gets wild so there has been a lot of animosity there before, but I think we’re just excited to get there and get the season officially started.” Coach Thivierge said in regard to the environment in Coeur D’ Alene.
The season opening dual is set to begin at 5p.m. in Coeur D’ Alene.
