New Media Broadcasters profiled two of the players competing in this weekend’s Montana – Wyoming All-Star Basketball games. Chinook’s Hallie Neibauer and Browning’s Maurice Redhorn III will be playing for an assembled roster of Montana’s best high school basketball players who have graduated in the Class of 2024.
Neibauer, who will be attending Montana Tech on a basketball scholarship and has now have played in each of the top-3 high school basketball showcases in her career, said she is looking forward to the opportunity to represent the Sugarbeeters for one last time on the basketball court and can’t wait to gel with her teammates for two games in a row.
“I’m very excited,” Neibauer said. “It’s a great opportunity and I’m very blessed to be picked for this.”
“I’m excited to play with my teammates that were also picked because they’re just a bunch of really good athletes as well,” Neibauer continued.
Redhorn III grew up and starred in Browning as an all-state athlete, but will be taking his talents to Havre and joining MSU-Northern on the basketball court and in the rodeo arenas. He was asked about how he got the opportunity to partake in this upcoming series and shared how he got to this point in his basketball journey.
“I was talking with my dad (about) a week before the (Hi-Line Invitational) tournament asking what (the Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series) was,” Redhorn III said. “I had never heard about it.”
“Then, after we played in the H.I.T Tournament, we were driving home from some college visits after that. I got this text that asked if I’d be able to come and play and I said, ‘Yeah, of course!'” Redhorn III continued. “I wouldn’t miss out on that opportunity. I found it pretty exciting.”
The Montana – Wyoming All-Star Basketball games will be played on Friday and Saturday in Gillette, WY and Billings, respectively. Listen to both sets of games starting at 5pm on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com.
