(Helena) – The Montana Department of Resources and Conservation’s Rangeland Resources Council has announced that Malta’s Perri Jacobs has been appointed to their Rangelands Resources Committee. Perri is a native Montanan having grown up on the family ranch southeast of Hardin She and her husband Lee are commercial cow/calf producers and ranchers. Perri holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Agriculture Production and Agriculture Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado. Her former hats include Vo-Ag teacher/FFA advisor, County Extension Agent for Agriculture in Montana and Colorado, and Bureau Chief at the Montana Department of Agriculture.

Perri is a native Montanan having grown up on the family ranch southeast of Hardin. At that time the ranch harvested winter wheat as well as producing market hogs and cattle. Perri currently resides 50 miles south of Malta with her husband Lee. They are commercial cow/calf producers and ranchers on a place that has been in the Jacobs family since 1917. They are members of the South Philips Grazing District and graze several BLM allotments along with their private holdings. Perri actively advocates for continued public land grazing and the power of grazing as a positive tool for conservation and food production. Perri is member of the Phillips County Livestock Association, Phillips County Cattlewoman, and Ranchers Stewardship Alliance. She currently serves as the Chair of the Land Use Committee for the Montana Stockgrowers Association. Perri was appointed to the Missouri Basin Resource Advisory Committee by the Department of Interior, where she serves as chair. She also serves as the Chair of the Multiple Use Committee for the National Public Lands Council. Perri holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Production and Agriculture Education from the University of NE-Lincoln. She has a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado. Her former hats include Vo-Ag teacher/FFA advisor; County Extension Agent for Agriculture in Montana and Colorado, and Bureau Chief at the Montana Department of Agriculture
