GRANITE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Granite County Sheriff’s Office says a 72-year-old Minnesota man drowned in Rock Creek on Thursday.
The man was in a raft that capsized west of Philipsburg. The man, who was wearing a life jacket, was thrown from the raft and drowned at the scene despite resuscitative efforts of bystanders.
The investigation is ongoing and the victim’s name has not been released.
Water on Rock Creek is exceptionally high, and anyone floating is encouraged to wear a life jacket and use extreme caution.
