YELLOWSTONE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A 58-year-old man from Custer, Montana was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night after striking a deer.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 8:40 PM at mile marker 11 of I-94 eastbound near Ballantine, when the man was driving a Ford Crown Victoria and struck a deer that entered the roadway.
The vehicle crossed the median, struck the westbound guardrail and overturned.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other occupants of the vehicle.
Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are all not suspected factors in the crash.
The road was bare and dry.
