HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A man has pleaded guilty to three felonies in Hill County District Court after admitting to causing damage while driving a stolen vehicle and being in possession of meth in November 2020.
Terrance Kane Daychild, who was 33-years-old at the time of the alleged incident, pleaded guilty on Monday to theft by obtaining unauthorized control, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
In the plea agreement, Daychild admitted that he possessed a Dodge pickup that had been stolen from West Fargo, North Dakota and was worth $39,000. Daychild admitted that while driving the pickup, he struck a trailer and caused more than $1,500 in damage, all while having a syringe loaded with meth in his pocket.
As per the terms of the plea agreement, the other two charges Daychild has been facing, a second felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, are expected to be dismissed at sentencing.
Sentencing is set for August 15th.
The alleged passenger in the pickup during the incident, Zachariah Lee Ambler, was given two concurrent five year suspended sentences with the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to two felony counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
