HAVRE, Mont. — Thomas John Sutherland, also known as Thomas John Falcon, was sentenced in Hill County District Court for firing at two police officers during a 2024 high-speed chase.
Sutherland pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted deliberate homicide after shots were fired at Chippewa Cree Rocky Boy Police officers during the incident.
Judge Kaydee Snipes-Ruiz sentenced him to two 30-year terms in the Montana State Prison, to be served concurrently, with parole eligibility after 15 years.
The case was investigated by state and local law enforcement agencies.
