(Havre) Montana Actors Theatre is again offering several paid internships for College students or recent College Graduates. Executive Director of MAT Theatre Jat Pyette explains what the role of the Summer interns is.
“First of all they run the Children’s Theatre Program KidsMat, which has been around for twenty some years now. Travel to the other communities where we offer it and just run those weeklong camps. So, that’s one phase of what they do and then the second thing they do is produce the youth show.“-Pyette
Intern applicants must be available from early June to mid-August. Priority is given to students attending a Montana High School, College or University and Pyette says it’s is an opportunity to get practical experience in the performing Arts.
“Really what we’re looking for are kids who are aiming to do theatre in their life. Maybe they’re going to school in a theatre program, or they have a high interest in it, in working in a school. You know, teaching students, anything like that. They do get a ton of practical experience.“-Pyette
