May Pony Post from Superintendent Gum

Pony Post, May 2026

At the conclusion of last week, we were notified that Jade Miller had been contacted by Nonstop Local and selected as their Project Classroom Teacher of the Month, sponsored by Stockman Bank.

The Nonstop Local newscast will be coming to Havre to celebrate with the students by hosting their ice cream party for the Tower of Books challenge. During their visit, Mrs. Miller will also be presented with a $500 award check. Please check out the link for more on the story!

The school board voted to move forward with a Community Development Block Grant which, if received, will provide some much-needed updates to Lincoln McKinley. There will be two public notices coming up where the community can voice their thoughts on what renovations they would like to see occur. I will keep everyone posted if we are approved for the grant during the 2026-27 school year.

Havre Public Schools Staff Appreciation Week will be May 18-21st. I would like to personally thank our staff and community for helping make this week such a special event!

Finally, our high school graduation will be at 11am, on June 6th, at Blue Pony Stadium. This year’s senior class is large, so please get to the stadium early if you want a good seat.

If you have any questions at any time, please reach out to me directly!

Sincerely,

Brian Gum
