(Havre) During the Havre City Council meeting on Monday, February 5th, the council voted to put to ballot a local government review vote Havre residents to vote on this coming June.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Mayor Doug Kaercher (Care-ker) to ask for more details on what a local government review is and what it means for Havre.
“Back in 1972 they did the Montana Constitution. They put in the constitution that all local governments, every 10 years, needs to do a review of their government and the makeup of their government. 10 years later you’re required to put it on the ballot for the people to decide whether they want to do an in depth look at their government and see if there’s some change that they would like to do”
