Havre, MT – led by Becky Melcher’s 25 points the Skylights routed Bismarck State College 104-80 Sunday afternoon.
Melcher went 8-17 from the field and knocked down seven made threes on 13 attempts. Head coach of the skylights Chris Mouat praised her performance as a whole.
“Becky is an elite shooter. I expect it to go in every time honestly if she has her feet set and it’s a good look. But where I’m most proud of her is defensively and what she is doing in the paint vs a year ago. We like the numbers and the points to go in but I’m also proud of her for the other things she’s doing.”
Melcher seven three pointers were part of the teams 17 total made threes setting a new program record in a single game.
The Skylights will host No.4 Dakota State Friday at 5p.m. and Bellevue University Saturday at 5p.m.
