MHSA Executive Board Meeting Highlights

The Montana High School Association Executive Board has had their annual meeting April 17th & 18th, highlights of the meeting are as follows:

The board elected Steven Thennis, Principal of Helena High School, as the new Board President. Krystal Zentner, Montana’s School Boards Association Representative from Bridger, was elected as Vice-President.

The board approved changing the number of preseason days of practice from 10 to 8 in all sports except football and golf. Football will remain at 10 and golf will remain at 2 preseason required practices.

New walk-up music for both baseball & softball have been approved. Each team can now choose their own approved music.

Effective immediately, jewelry can be worn if allowed by NFHS rules.

Volleyball can now go back to switching benches between sets.
