With the first practices of the 2024 season getting underway for Montana high school activities next week, the MHSA wants to remind parents and guardians to get those annual physicals done for their children and have rolled out a new form for the 2024-25 school year.
The MHSA pre-participation form is the only document that will be accepted in order for a child to participate in sports starting this fall. According to the association:
• Parent(s)/legal guardian(s) and their student will fill out the History portion of the form together.
• The student and parent/guardian will sign the form.
• A medical provider will review the form with the student and parent/guardian and perform the exam. A signature from the medical provider is required to clear the student for participation.
• The completed MHSA Pre-participation Physical Exam form will be given to the appropriate school administrator.
Again, the pre-participation form must be filled out before practices begin. Havre High will hold its parent meeting on Aug. 12 at 5:30pm in the auditorium, while Chinook’s fall parent meeting will take place on Aug. 13 at 6pm.
Havre High golf will start practicing on Aug. 15, while football, volleyball, and cross country will begin on Aug. 16. Players are asked to meet in the gym.
Chinook High school football’s first practice will be on Aug. 16 from 6-9pm and the second practice will be the very next day from 6-9pm. Sugarbeeters volleyball has an Aug. 16 first practice day and will go from 8-10am and then 3-5pm. The next day will feature the same times of 8-10am and 3-5pm.
