HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The stream gauge at Big Sandy Creek just west of Havre is reporting levels of minor flooding. Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Dave Sheppard says the water has risen to nearly eight and a half feet, which is the lowest level for flooding in that area.
“You know, in the real low-lying areas, there could be water coming outside the banks, but it’s, um, in general it’s still inside the banks of the creek.”
Sheppard says they are not seeing any real flooding in other parts of Hill County. Right now, Fresno Reservoir is holding back it’s water to help ease flooding further downstream. Fresno is 53 percent full.
