The Chinook Sugarbeeters Boys Basketball Team started off the weekend with a big (74-46) win over North Star for Senior Night. Brenden Fetter led the way with a game high 27 points in the victory. In what was maybe the best game of the season for the Sugarbeeters, six different players scored a basket including Fetter (27pts), Jackson Nordboe (18pts), and Flint Annis (10pts) scoring in double figures. Chinook forced 23 turnovers and were the better team from start to finish.
Saturday Nights game at Fort Benton was not quite as dominant. The Sugarbeeters lost (39-59), were leading (13-11) at the end of the first quarter. Chinook was then outscored (21-6) in the second quarter and were never able to get back into the game after that. The offense struggled as a whole, scoring 13, 6, 12, & 6 points in each quarter.
Chinook ends their season 5-13, though showing some life and an idea of what the team can be when things are clicking. With the 9-C District Tournament up next, Chinook will look to show up looking like the team that defeated North Star more than who lost to Fort Benton.
