Montana Actors Theater Presentation of Newsies

(Havre) – November 16th to November 19th and November 24th to November 25th Montana Actors Theatre will be presenting the musical Newsies at the Havre High School. Angela Pratt the children and youth director and costume director for Montana Actor’s Theatre talks about the history of the play.

“Well, I’m not actually sure all the history of it. I know that it was done to commemorate that momentous occasion when youth went on strike in New York City and kind of brought the industry of Newspapers and anything that youth were a part of working. kind of put it to a standstill.”

She also talks about how long it took them to set it up.

“We auditioned right after school got in so in August, we auditioned so it’s been however many weeks that is.”

She continues by talking about why they chose this play.

“We’ve got a lot of talent at the high school level and this one takes a lot of dancing and singing, and we have a good amount of both male and females who could fill the roles.”

She finishes by talking about who the leads of the play are.

“The leads that we have in the play are Gray Brady he plays jack and then Marlee Thivierage she plays Katherine and then Wade Tungesvick he plays Davey and then hawk Messinger plays Les. and there’s a lot of other good, good leads in there, so.”
