HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that 47 communities will share over $25 million in infrastructure grants through the Montana Coal Endowment Program (MCEP).
Many communities in north-central Montana are among those receiving grants:
- Big Sandy will be receiving $484,671 to install a storm drain system along Main Street
- Cascade County will be receiving $750,000 to replace Armington Bridge near Belt
- Choteau will be receiving $625,000 to replace water lines and develop a new water supply source
- Chouteau County will be receiving $318,706 to replace Meeks Bridge near Highwood
- Fairfield will be receiving $625,000 to replace water lines
- Fort Benton will be receiving $625,000 to construct a new storage tank and transmission main
- Hill County will be receiving $260,500 to upgrade their RSID #21 lift station
- Lewistown will be receiving $500,000 to install a disinfection system, replace water lines and rehabilitate a pump station
- The Loma Water and Sewer District will be receiving $455,800 to install new water lines and a booster station
- North Valley County Water and Sewer District will be receiving $625,000 to replace water lines and improve tank and meters
- The Phillips County Buffalo Trail Water District will be receiving $200,000 to drill new wells and install a storage tank for Buffalo Trail Water District
- Shelby will be receiving $625,000 to replace water lines
- Sunburst will be receiving $625,000 to rehabilitate a water tank, connect a well and install new meters
- The Sun Prairie Water District will be receiving $275,000 to drill a new well and install new meters and pumps
- Valier will be receiving $625,000 to remove sludge, install an influent screen and replace mains
- Winnett will be receiving $625,000 to replace sewer lines and construct improvements to a wastewater treatment facility
MCEP infrastructure grants are used to fund new construction or rehabilitation of infrastructure projects dealing with drinking water systems, wastewater treatment facilities, storm water systems, solid waste systems and bridges.
Qualifying water and sewer programs will be unded with appropriations from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
This program was previously named the Treasure State Endowment Program.
