Montana Population Expected to Grow

(Helena) – The Montana Legislature’s Legislative Fiscal Divsion says Montana’s population is expected to grow over the next 15 years, but the number of children under age 18 is likely to decrease, according to projections provided to LFD by the Montana Department of Commerce.
Additionally, the number of retirement-age adults is expected to increase — especially between 2020 and 2030. That will likely result in seniors being a larger share of the state’s population.
More analysis on this and other demographic trends are available on the Legislative Fiscal Division website.
