(Helena) Every December, the Montana Professional Teaching Foundation solicits applications and awards classroom grants. This year, they received nearly 80 applications and awarded over $15,000 to nearly 40 educators across Montana.
The Karen Cox grant awards winning educators with up to $500 for classroom supplies, which prevents them from having to tap their own bank accounts for essential classroom materials.
While most of the grants awarded did go to teachers in Helena, Missoula, and Bozeman, they did also award rural educators in places like Twin Bridges, Scobey, and Choteau.
