Montana public schools see slight decrease in enrollment.

(Helena) Montana Superintendent, Elsie Arntzen, has released the public, private, and homeschool enrollment data for the 2023-2024 year.

According to a press release from the Office of Public Instruction, Montana public schools are required to send enrollment data, per Montana statute, to the OPI to calculate school funding.

Public school enrollment during the 2023-2024 school year shows that the k-12 public enrollment in the state dropped 1.3%

Arntzen says “This data reflects families that are moving out of state and parents that desire more engagement in their children’s education through homeschooling.”
