Montana’s COVID Case Count Climbs

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana reported 493 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the most in a single day since January.

COVID-related hospitalizations are up to 154, below the peak of 400 last November but triple the average of 54 this past June.

90 percent of those hospitalized with COVID in June or July were unvaccinated.

41 of Montana’s 54 counties reported at least one new case of the virus on Tuesday, and Montana’s most populous counties continue leading the state in new daily cases. Flathead reported 98 new cases Tuesday, Yellowstone reported 85, Cascade saw 62 new cases, and Missoula reported 54 new cases.
