Montana’s Students Demonstrate the Importance of Wildfire Prevention Through Art

MISSOULA, Mont. (NMB) – 2019 marks Keep Montana Green’s 58th year of offering a statewide art contest for K through 12 students. A press release says that the theme this year was “Prepare, Protect, Prevent.”

Thousands of students from 100 schools across the state participated in the contest.

Some local winners include Kamea FourStar, a freshman from Wolf Point High School, who placed 3rd in the Junior Division. Jessica Kinamon placed 2nd in the Senior Division. She is a senior from Conrad High School. Dominick Balston, a fourth grader from Fort Shaw Elementary, placed 2nd in the Special Education Division for grades K through 6. Grace Loose, a freshman from Hobson High School, received 3rd place in their Computer Generated Division. Sixth grader Katelynn Barnard from Havre Middle School received an honorable mention.
