(Havre) – This summer the City of Havre has been replacing lead service lines throughout the community. Public Works Director Trevor Mork told New Media Broadcasters how the project is going.
“As the first city in the state of Montana to go after the lead service line replacement as required by the EPA, it’s been a fairly successful project. There’s been a lot of learning going on, but, so far, out of the three-thousand six-hundred and forty-one service connections that we have within our public water supply, we’ve addressed one hundred fifty-six of them that were either known lead or needed verification.”
The Lead Service Line replacement project will continue on 5th avenue on Monday. Two work zones for the Lead Service Line Replacement Project will be in effect on 5th Avenue starting Monday,
September 8th after 9:00 AM and will continue until Thursday, September 18th. Suggested alternative routes include detouring to 4th and 6th Avenues from 10th or 4th Street. Truck traffic is
advised to find an alternative route or use 6th Avenue from 13th Street to First Street.
