MSU Breaks Fall Enrollment Record

(Bozeman) – Montana State University has broken its all-time enrollment record this fall, welcoming 17,477 students to campus. University officials report that headcount is up 1.8 percent from last year, driven by the largest incoming first-year class in school history at 3,970 students.

The record-breaking figures include an all-time high of 15,431 undergraduate students and 2,046 graduate students. MSU also continues to enroll more Montana residents than any other campus in the state, with resident students totaling 8,735. That is an increase of 216 local students over last fall, with nearly 1,600 of them attending college for the very first time.

Additionally, school officials note massive growth in specific populations, including a 10 percent increase in students receiving veteran benefits, bringing that total to 914 students. Two-year programs at Gallatin College MSU also saw a major boost, climbing four-point-five percent to 1,126 students.
