HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The MSU Central Agricultural Research Center (CARC) will be hosting their
2019 Moccasin Field Day on Wednesday, July 10th.
According to a press release, activities kick off at 8:15am with coffee, tea, rolls and registration. The tour wagons will load up and head out to plots at 9:05am and return to the CARC at noon. A lunch will be provided by BASF, InVigor, Cargill, and Stricks Ag.
The focus of this year’s field day will be on growing small grains in Central Montana. Wheat (hard red winter, hard red spring and durum) and barley variety development and selection will be at the center of topics.
Other aspects of the Field Day will cover the impact of crop sequence/rotation on wheat and barley, soil microbe activity in spring wheat and nitrogen mineralization in Central Montana.
