
HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Little River Institute at Montana State University-Northern has announced that they have been awarded nearly $1.5 million from the Department of Education’s Native American Non-Tribal Institutions Program.
This five-year program will expand upon the work of the Little River Insitute to increase on-time graduation rates of Native American students at both the bachelors and associates levels and increase the retention rates for all Native American students.
The new grant award also provides an opportunity for focused efforts to expand STEM coursework, specifically in the area of computer science.
The Little River Institute in located in the Student Union Building on the MSUN campus and provides home for Native American students that honors and reflects their tribal cultures and heritage of the region.
