MSU-N Wrestling Adds Another JUCO Transfer

On Thursday, the MSU-Northern Lights wrestling team signed Caeleb Ishmael to join the roster for the 2024-25 season. Ishmael is a Michigan native, coming from the town of Coloma and starring at Southwestern Michigan College.

While with the Roadrunners, he helped revitalize a program that was brought back as he got to campus in 2022. This past season, Ishmael earned an All-American distinction in the NJCAA ranks after finishing seventh at Nationals. It was the first time a wrestler from Southwestern Michigan College became an All-American in 30 years.

Before enrolling at Southwestern Michigan College, he recorded over 150 wins at Coloma High, earning All-State as a freshman and contending for individual state titles each of his upperclassman seasons.

Ishmael has two years of eligibility remaining and will wrestle for the Lights at the 149-pound weight class.
