Helena, MT – After great runs from both the Lights and Skylights Basketball Programs at the Frontier Conference Tournament, three MSU-Northern players received all-tournament selections.
Only one Skylight made the list in Becky Melcher who posted a career high 30 points in the first round against Rocky Mountain College. Melcher drilled seven three pointers in the Skylights upset. This season Becky Melcher broke the single season record for the most made triples in Skylights history with 83.
The other selections on the women’s side were Tabor Teel of Dakota State, Bailee Sayler of Montana Western, Liv Wangerin and Brooke Badovinac of Montana Tech.
On the Men’s side the Lights made Cinderella run to the Frontier Conference tournament championship game as the seven seed. The Lights were led by All-Tournament selections Austin Ramos and Luke Holecek.
Through the three tournament games Holecek led the lights in scoring averaging 17.6 points per game and was followed closely by Romas with 16.3 points and five rebounds per game.
The last three spots on the All-tournament team were given to Asher Williams of Montana Tech, along with Omar Nesbit and Royce Robinson of Rocky Mountain College who defeated the lights in 79-77 in championship game.
