HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern is celebrating 90 years of teaching. Northern first opened its doors on September 24th, 1929 with five faculty members and 80 students.
A press release says the entire college was originally located in temporary quarters at Havre High School. In 1934, four departments moved to East Hall, the first building on the present campus.
Now, 90 years later, they are celebrating the many milestones people have achieved to bring the facilities and programs we enjoy today. During the year, they will explore many of the high points in their history.
People are invited to share their favorite memory of their time at Northern on social media, using the hashtag #90YearsofNorthern.
