MSU-Northern Community Orchestra Holding Free Concert Tuesday

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The MSU-Northern Community Orchestra will be holding a free holiday concert this Tuesday at 7 PM at Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre.

Sharon Dolph is a founding member of the Orchestra and says the theme of this years concert is ‘Not So Silent Night,’ with lively and recognizable music for everyone to enjoy.

“I think it’ll be enjoyable. We’ll have a full orchestra. In fact, our orchestra is larger than it’s ever been. We also have the participation of several (Havre) High School students, as well as the High School director. So that’s pretty exciting.”

Dolph says this is their first concert in almost two years, and they can’t wait to put on a show for a live audience again.

Normally, we do a musical for (Montana Actors’ Theatre) about once a year. And we will typically have a fall concert around the holidays. And because of all the venues being shut down, we weren’t able to do that. So we just decided we’re going to go for it and see what happens. And so here we are.”

Although admission is free, donations will be accepted. The Orchestra has to pay for music and other expenses such as instrument upkeep.
