MSU-Northern Football Roster Status

Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern spring football is in full motion preparing for the 2026 season.

In spring practices, the team is shorthanded in a few positions due to the time of year but are practicing hard. Despite the lower numbers, Lights head coach Jerome Souers said he is confident about how the roster will come together this summer and fall.

“Where we’re at right now obviously in NAIA recruiting that can go right onto in the middle of July and some case. So we’re keeping an open mind but we have a lot of our positions filled. Our team is the strongest it’s been I like that we’re more balanced you know we have experience on both sides of the ball and having 20 seniors this year is what we project to have will be the most experience we’ve had.”

In the 2025 season the Lights had 11 seniors on the roster. This year’s returners are looking to improve upon last season one win campaign.
