The MSU-Northern Lights Men’s Basketball team travels to Chandler, Arizona for the Cactus Classic. Down there they’ll play Hope University, Vanguard University and Master’s university.
They’re 8-2 on the season, but head coach Shawn Huse knows it’s only going to get tougher from here.
“All tough teams from here on out. we go to Phoenix to play two of three nationally ranked teams. The good news is, were not playing anyone easy, were not going to lie to ourselves by any stretch. We’re going to continue to learn about ourselves in the right ways by having true tests. That gives you a true gage of what kind of things you’re doing well and what you need to work on and not a false gage in terms of success or failure.” – Huse
Coach Huse also spoke about his game plan defensively for their first game against Hope University.
“Think you have to slow them down in transition, I think that’s where it starts with them. Beyond that, it’s guarding everything. Looking at how they run, what they run. Being ready for those certain actions that they have in their offenses. Countering them and being ready for them defensively and also being ready for them with their versatile personnel. We look forward to the challenges.” – Huse
