Another day of College National Finals Rodeo competition took place on Friday night in Casper, WY. One Light and one Skylight competed to try and make it to Saturday night’s championship round. Here is how they did:
In the saddle bronc, Big Sky regional champion and senior Light Garrett Cunningham put up a 69.5, which at the time, put him No. 9 in the nation and the 11th cowboy to have three successive rides in three go’s at the 2024 CNFR. With an aggregate score of 203 points, he ended up just getting into the field and will be one of 12 riders to compete in the championship round.
For junior Skylight Georgia Orahood, she got a third go at the breakaway roping and got the lasso on the calf in 2.4 seconds, but broke the barrier, so her last time at the CNFR was 12.4.
Saturday night’s championship round featuring MSU-Northern Lights and Skylights will start at 7pm and be available for viewing on ESPN3
