Havre, Mt – MSU-Northern Lights and Skylights Rodeo concluded their fall season back in late September and each finished third in Big Sky region standings.
Head coach of Northern Rodeo, Doug Kellenberger, told NMB what his teams do in the cold Montana winters to keep themselves and their horses in shape and ready for the spring.
“Yeah, so what we will do is, we still got our practice stock and kids will continue to stay shop in the arena as long as the weather will hold out, and of course we have the Bigger Better Barn up there that we’ll move to. When it’s brutally cold we have to move everything into the gym, rope the dummies, do work outs. We will have kids over winter break will back up and head to Arizona and keep their horses sharp.”
Northern Rodeo will resume its regular season in the spring at Montana State University.
