On Thursday afternoon, MSU-Northern volleyball coach Jerry Wagner announced the signing of Emily Bird to play for the Skylights starting in the 2024 season.
Bird comes from Townsend, where she played her high school ball at Broadwater. While with the Bulldogs, she broke the school record for assists in a season and then did it again two years later as a senior.
She has the single-season record for her high school for digs in a game with 66. Overall, her numbers in four years at Broadwater were 4,498 assists, 458 digs, 20 blocks, 112 kills, and 69 aces. All those stats are school records.
Bird, a four-year Honor Roll Student and four-time Academic All-State, said she chose MSU-Northern because the academic curriculum aligns with her interests of AG and Veterinary Medicine.
