The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020, declared the novel coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic. Now according to MSUN Chancellor Greg Kegal almost three years later MSUN is getting back to normal but returning to normal wasn’t without some challenges.
“Well, without question as a chancellor of a university to make announcements that we’re closing buildings and closing services and we’re going online all of those things are the things that you don’t want to ever have to announce, and we did that, and it was hard.”– Chancellor Greg Kegal
In the process of dealing with Covid 19 Chancellor Kegal says that lessons were learned.
“Coming back from that there were things that we learned. There were things that we had to learn on the fly that probably in a lot of ways will help us downstream. We’re still really cognizant of things like the spread of germs and doing things more in safe manners. So, we learned a little bit of that. We learned responsiveness, how to work as a team to get things done quicker.”- Chancellor Greg Kegal
Now Chancellor Kegal is happy to say that MSUN is basically back to normal.
“I think this semester we felt pretty close to normal. When you looked at the campus calendar and the events that we have on it it looked pretty close to normal, and we were able to do the things that we need to do as a four-year campus.” -Chancellor Greg Kegal
