(NMB) MSU Northern Professor of Integrated Sciences Dr. Chad Spangler and a few undergraduate students began a research project in the spring that measures resting metabolism to provide insight into overall wellness. Dr. Spangler and the students are ready to share and present some of their preliminary findings. The presentation will take place on Tuesday July 21st. Dr. Spangler told New Media Broadcasters what attendees can expect.
“They’re going to hear from myself and the summer research students that I’m working with. They’ll hear a little bit about what we’re talking about when we say resting metabolism or resting energy expenditure. A little bit of education, just briefly kind of on the subject overall and then we’re going to talk about kind of how we’re doing it, what kind of the method is and then we’ll start talking about what we’re seeing in the initial participants in terms of what the typical resting metabolism rate is per kilogram of body weight.
The presentation will be at noon and 6pm on Tuesday July 21st in the Hagener Science Building and will include questions, and answers. It’s open to the public, attendees can tour the research lab, and light refreshments will be served.
