The NAIA has released their preseason coaches poll for the upcoming women’s volleyball season.
Defending Frontier Conference regular season and tournament champions Providence are the highest rated team from the Treasure State, as they begin the season ranked 10th in the country.
The only other Frontier Conference team in the rankings is Montana Tech, and they are ranked 13th.
The Skylights will face both Providence and Montana Tech three times this upcoming regular season.
Although MSU-Northern will start the season unranked, they have made big strides under head coach Jerry Wagner and are hoping to make some serious noise this fall.
Northern’s season officially tips off on Thursday, August 18th at 10 AM at Valley City State University in North Dakota.
Northern will host a home exhibition against Medicine Hat College on Saturday, August 20th at 1 PM. Their official home opener is Friday, September 9th at noon against Mayville State University.
A season ago, the Skylights went 15-13 overall, and 4-6 in conference. This marked a massive improvement from previous years, as they posted more wins than the past three seasons combined.
