Mental Health in the state of Montana is a big problem.
According to a report from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services 13.9% of all adults in Montana reported frequent (14 or more days) mental distress in 2019.
An organization in Havre is working to educate people on mental illness. Crystal Laufer the president and founder of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) in Havre explains her program and what she hopes to accomplish.
“We would like Havre and surrounding areas to get educated and understand that it is not something that they are making up, they live with these illnesses every day, and the family members to understand what they are going through.”-Crystal Laufer
