New MHP Troopers Assigned to Havre and Chinook After Largest Class in 20 Years

HELENA, Mont. — Two new Montana Highway Patrol troopers will begin their service in north-central Montana following a graduation ceremony Friday in Helena.

The Montana Department of Justice says 17 recruits completed the 81st Advanced Academy, the patrol’s largest graduating class in 20 years.

Among them, Jen Torgerson of Havre will begin duty in her hometown, and Cody Bicknell, originally from Kalispell, is assigned to Chinook.

Attorney General Austin Knudsen and MHP Colonel Kurt Sager welcomed the new troopers, commending their commitment to serving Montana’s communities and highways.

The patrol is currently accepting applications for its next class through July 20th.
