New Northern Alumni Director Settles In

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Last week, the new Executive Director for MSU-Northern’s Alumni Foundation began her new duties just in time for the fall semester. Shantel Cronk is a Hi-Line native who graduated from Chinook High School. After college, she worked for some big-name companies like Nike and Adidas doing things like product design and strategic business planning, but is excited to be back in Montana.

“I feel, like anything in life, this position, for me, came back to timing. The opportunity of Jim Bennett stepping down. At the same time, I was looking for an opportunity to utilize my skill sets in challenging way, but also giving back.”

Cronk says that she learned many skills over the years that will help her in her new position.

“A lot of it is personal skills. Being able to interact with teams that you work with, but also accounts and suppliers and that thing. And having that interpersonal skills and being able to public speak and outreach, is really, really fundamental for this role here.”

Cronk is excited to be a part of Northern and hopes to make a positive impact on the university and the community.
