An exciting and fun project is well underway in Havre. The Natalie Patrick Foundation is building a splash park that is projected to be complete by this summer.
Brett Patrick a Board Member for the Natalie Patrick foundation explains the details.
“The splash park is designed similar and based of one that Shelby, Montana had. It’s going to be about 2500 square feet. Last year we began construction on it with a groundbreaking ceremony and a phase one portion of it which included excavation and the initial gravel and dirt work as well as the concrete edging wall. The project is going right next to city of Havre community pool, and we’ll be connected with that and when the Natalie Patrick Foundation finishes the splash park here, which our hope is to be done by this summer so it will be done and usable then the foundation will turn it over to the city of Havre for them to own and maintaining the year in year out basis.” –Brett Patrick
Brett continues to explain the grant that the Natalie Patrick Foundation was awarded in order to fund the project.
“So recently we applied, late last year, the Natalie Patrick Foundation in conjunction with the Havre Chamber of commerce applied for a Montana tourism grant. Basically, the funding from the state goes out to projects that will help enhance tourism bring more people to a community as well as support a community in general. So, we applied for the grant and late last year we received $94,000 which will go directly towards the essential funding for the actual splash park features and the water system.” –Brett Patrick
