JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A 53-year-old woman from Mandan, North Dakota, was killed in a rollover crash in Jefferson County on Sunday.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the time of the incident remains unclear. It occurred at mile marker 5 of Montana Highway 55 near Whitehall, when the woman was driving a 1994 Jeep Wrangler northbound.
While negotiating a left-hand curve on the wet road, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected to the left, then overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to slide off the road into the ditch.
The vehicle started to roll and the unrestrained driver was ejected.
The Wrangler impacted a fence and landed on its side.
The incident remains under investigation.
