Northern Athletics Signs Pair of Prospects

MSU-Northern athletics added two more high school athletes to its future rosters.

In wrestling, the Lights signed Landon Bishop, who was a standout at Ronan High School. Bishop weighed in at 170 pounds for the Chiefs and secured a 41-3 record after winning the Western ‘A’ Divisional. He went into the state tournament in Billings and won his first two decisions by fall and his next two by decision to secure the overall championship in the 170-pound weight class. He has also placed three times at that level throughout his high school wrestling career.

In rodeo, the program signed Colter Froshaug, who is a native of Minton, Saskatchewan. The 6-foot-5 inch cowboy will compete in steer wrestling and team roping when he joins the squads. He was a dominant steer wrestler in the Canadian high school ranks, winning the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals Reserve in 2021. The next season, he won the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association in the same event. At Northern, Froshaug will major in Diesel Technology.
