HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State University-Northern Alumni Foundation is hosting their annual fundraising auction on Friday night in the Student Union Building on Northern’s campus. Alumni Foundation Director Shantel Cronk says they will open their doors at 5:30 instead of 6 PM this year.
“We actually provide scholarships to all the athletic groups, including the Rodeo Club. We also provide scholarships to the different schools. So, for instance the School of Technical Sciences gets a scholarship. This is actually the only fundraiser that provides a scholarship to our graduate students as well.”
Cronk says they tend to raise about $20,000 to provide student scholarships. They will have several prizes, auctions and baskets during the event.
“Some include golf packages. Some are overnight stays at different locations and it’s just a lot of good things going on. And we do really want to thank our donors. We actually reach out to all the area businesses and they’re the one’s providing these baskets for the silent auction and for the live auctions.”
Tickets cost $30 per person and can be purchased at the Alumni Office in Cowan Hall on MSU-Northern’s campus or at the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce. Purchasing a ticket also gets you registered to win a $1,200 travel voucher.
