Havre, MT – Monday night Havre Northstar baseball put together back-to-back wins over the Tri-County Cardinals and are now riding a three-game winning streak into a short turnaround conference double header Wednesday afternoon.
The Northstars defeated the Cardinals 7-0 in game one and 5-2 in game two. Havre head coach Ben Mader said he loved how his team played together to keep a clean field.
“Play behind your pitcher. Kaden Can’t do what Kaden does without a field behind him to make great plays. Quin’s the same way; he charges barrels with his speed and if our field isn’t clean, we won’t do well.” Coach Mader stated.
The Nothstars were scheduled for a non-conference game on Wednesday in Glasgow before the cancelation led to Havre picking up a conference battle at Medicine Hat Wednesday afternoon. Coach Mader Told NMB Sports how his team can ride their momentum and extend the win streak.
“We got to take care of runners in scoring position. Medicine Hat is a young group but they’re well coached, so they’re going to be fundamentally sound; But we got to handle our business before we worry about anyone else.”
First pitch Wednesday in Medicine Hat is Scheduled for noon. Havre will follow that up hosting the Fort McLeod Royals at American Legion Park on Saturday July 11, at 1p.m.
