(NMB) The Havre Northstars lost their opening game of the State Class “A American legion Baseball Tournament, falling to the Butte Miners by a score of 15 to 5. Havre scored one run in the top of the first inning but Butte put up 5 runs in their half of the first and added 9 more runs in the bottom of the second Inning. Butte’s nine run second was fueled by doubles from Kenley Leary, Hart Leary and Eagen Lester. Trenton Maloughney started on the mound for the Northstars and lasted just 1 and two thirds innings allowing 14 runs on 11 hits. Offensively Havre collected seven hits in the game. Theron Peterson and Brody Nanini had two hits each. The 15 to 5 loss drops the Northstars into the losers bracket where they will face the Bitteroot Red Sox at 10am Thursday Morning
