Lewistown, MT – Sunday evening, it was looking bleak for The Havre Northstars in their North District A tournament championship game against the Vauxhall Spurs, before lightning struck forcing the second delay of the weekend.
Havre made the championship after defeating the Lethbridge Miners 4-1 early Sunday afternoon setting up a rematch with Vauxhall. Havre and Vauxhall played in the unbeaten semifinal and the game was delay to rain and lighting after just three innings. Haver eventually lost 21-15 in 9 innings.
In the rematch, the Northstars struggled early trailing 7-0 with 2 outs in the bottom of the fifth inning before the game was delayed by lighting and eventually canceled giving Vauxhall the championship win. Both games Havre played against Vauxhall were interrupted by weather delays.
Teegan Solomon and Tyson Brandon were the only Nothstars to get a hit.
