(NMB) Tanner DeLarosa pitched 6 1/3 innings, gave up five hits and struck out ten Lewistown hitters in the Havre Northstars 12-7 game one win on Wednesday night in Lewistown. Teegan Solomon and Tyson Brandon each had three hits and Connor Essert drove in two runs, six other Havre hitters each drove in a run. Havre had a commanding lead 12-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th and held off the Redbirds for the win. The Northstars committed 2 errors and out hit Lewistown 12 to 7.
Game two saw the Northstars lose their first North District game of the year by a final of 5 to 4. the game was tied at 4 in the bottom of the 6th inning when a bases loaded walk plated the winning run for Lewistown. Havre starting pitcher Quinn Elliot was solid on the mound going five innings, allowing four runs on five hits striking out five Lewistown hitters. Oliver Benjamin and Conner Essert each drove in one run.
The Northstrs are now 17-8 and 1 on the year and 8 -1 in conference play. Havre will play a single conference game against Great Falls on Thursday in Lewistown and will compete in the Harold Gjerde Tournament through Sunday where they will play Butte, Laurel and Miles City.
